Kin on Track Newsflash - March 9, 2024

This is your Kin on Track News Flash coming to you from the Zone J Conference hosted by the Chesley Kinettes.

In Old Business, we formerly misidentified the Chesley Kinette Club as having celebrated 87 years on March 1. Rather it was the Chesley Kinsmen Club. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

On that note, We’d like to additionally congratulate the following clubs who’ve celebrated their charter Anniversaries since our last Kin on Track News Flash: the Goderich Kinette Club celebrated 76 years on February 27, the Harriston Kinsmen Club who celebrated 65 years on March 5, and the Mitchell and Area Kin Club who celebrated their 1st anniversary yesterday on March 8.

For the Good of Kin:

An Upcoming Anniversary prior to our next Kin on Track News Flash is the Brantford Kinsmen Club on March 11, who celebrate 83 years.

Upcoming Events:

• March 10th the Listowel Kinsmen are hosting 2 events: a Paddy Fest Crockinole Doubles Tournament and Spring Market, while the Grimsby Kinette Club is hosting their 27th Annual Mini Putt Tour. They are seeking volunteers and you may reach out to any Grimsby Kinette or contact us for contact information.
• March 11th the Listowel Kinsmen are hosting 2 events: a Paddy Fest Cornhole Tournament Grades 5-9 and a March Break Day Camp
• March 13th is Zone D’s Zone Conference
• March 14th is Paddyfest Taps and Trivia hosted by the Listowel Kinsmen Club
• March 16th is Zone F’s Zone Conference
• March 22nd is Niagara on the Lake’s Friday Euchre
• March 23rd is Zone C’s Zone Conference
• March 24th is Zone K’s Zone Conference
• March 30th is the SOLD OUT Aylmer Kinsmen’s Music and Pop Culture Trivia

In Other News:

May 10th-12th is Spring Convention hosted by the St. Thomas Kinsmen at the Ramada Inn London. The Registration form is available under Conventions on the District 1 website at district1kin.ca

The Foundation is once again sponsoring the National Public Speakers Competition at National Convention 2024. A reminder you must first qualify at your club, Zone and District. We’ll see you at the podium.

Lastly, a reminder to submit for awards. We want to make Brandon cry with an influx of submissions. You’re doing great things, why not get awarded for such.

Lastly we have a PRIZE ALERT!!!!

April 14th to 20th is National Volunteer Week. Playing a vital role in the inclusivity, strength and well being of our communities, thru the contributions of time, skills, empathy and creativity significantly enhances the quality of life we all strive for.

To recognize and celebrate the impact of more hands make lighter work, we encourage you to “bring a friend” to a March or April meeting, service project or social for your club. Send us the name of your invited guest or guests to governors [snail] district1kin [period] ca. If your guest is confirmed as a newly registered member by the deadline of October 31, 2024 - your name will go into a draw to receive a prize at FLC 2024 from the Kin on Track Team.
