Home ~ Zone K Home
Welcome Fellow Kin,
I’m honoured to be spending a 2nd term as one of the Deputy Governors of Zone K. Last year was a huge learning curve for me yet a very rewarding experience. I hope to build on my experiences from last year and continue to grow Kin relationships and my knowledge base. As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Yours in Kin,
DG Patti
As I enter my second year of Deputy Governor of Zone K, District 1 along with my Kin Partner Patti, I plan to build on what I learned last year and expand on that while working with District Governors Lori & Paul along with he rest of the District Team.
YIK,
DG Don
I first joined Kinsmen in the fall of 1984. But in the spring of ‘84’ I went to Spring Convention in Cambridge with the club that I would join, which going to Cambridge was the reason that I joined . I was a member of the Milverton & District Kinsmen until about 1995. While in the Milverton club I held most of the Executive positions up to and including President. I was Bulletin Editor twice and each time won “Bulletin of the Year” award. I got a job in Stratford at ‘Fram’ in ‘91’ and got married to Jennifer and moved to Stratford in 1994. In ‘95’ I made the move to the Kinsmen Club of Stratford. Had to move from Zone “B” (Best) to Zone “K” (Also Best) …….L.O.L. In 1996 Jennifer had our daughter, Stephanie.
In joining the Stratford Kinsmen, having held executive positions before I moved up through the ranks rather quickly and held most of the Executive positions here as well including President here too. Once again holding the Bulletin Editor position, I won “Bulletin of the Year” award again. Must have been easy to win…….L.O.L. Finally in 2023 I wanted to do something different and decided to take on the Deputy Governor position. It has been something that I have been wanting to do for a number of years and my work schedule finally is going to let me do it.
Don
Hello Fellow Kin,
My name is Patti Lamb and I have been a member of the Goderich Kinette Club since 2012. Within my Club, I’ve held the positions (multiple times) of Secretary, Treasurer, and President. I’m looking forward to learning and growing in my new, first-time role as the DG for Zone K and to hope to share with and support both individuals and clubs in our zone.
I have a wonderful husband Glen who is dairy farmer; three pretty great children - Sierra (29), Carson (28), & Rylan (26) and three beautiful grandbabies - Lawson (3), Hadley (2 ½), & Reanna (1). I’m lucky enough to have all my family, including my parents, live within a 5-minute drive of my home.
I will be retiring in September 2023 from my job of 29 years as the Registrar of a county museum and plan to spend as much time as possible with family and friends and really dive in head first to this new role.
Patti

As was decided at both Zone conferences, the incoming DG's will work as a team, rather than one DG for the Kinsmen and one for the Kinettes. Please let Ally or Mike know if you have any questions!

March 2023 Kinette Club updates:
Clinton Kinette Club
Hello! We are the Clinton and District Kinettes.
We may not have a large number of members, but we are definitely a mighty group! We have lots of laughs together and always enjoy working together to ensure we are doing our very best to give back to our communities and raise as much as we can for Cystic Fibrosis!
Some of the fundraisers and events we have chair or co-chaired this year include the Poinsettia fundraiser, Christmas Marketplace, Santa Clause Parade with the Clinton Kinsmen, TV Auction with the Clinton and Goderich Kinsmen and Kinettes, and two days of free swim at the Vanastra Rec Center during March Break (to celebrate KIN Kindness Day).
Upcoming, we have our annual Easter Egg Hunt and PlucKINfest, both co-chaired with the Clinton Kinsmen. We are also looking forward to a weekend of camping together in June, where we enjoy each others company and have our last meeting of the year. We are looking forward to being able to get together in person for Zone Conference this year!
Hensall Kinette CLub:
We had our Cheer for a Year Elimination ticket draw in January. It was very successful! It's our biggest fundraiser of the year.
Upcoming events.
- Food Drive in April with the Hensall Firemen
- Toll Booth May 2-4 weekend.
- Tampon Tuesday at Hansens in Exeter in April.
- CF Walk May 28th
St Marys Kinette Club:
The St. Marys Kinettes are 13 members strong and 1 life member. We have had a busy year
this far with many events to come.
We started our first project of making and serving a Community Meal in October, we make and
serve the meal. This is a meal that numerous service clubs do every two weeks throughout the
year.
Our Christmas parade in November was a very fun project, we made up selfies frames to walk
in the parade. We asked the parade goers to bring a can good and they would get a free selfie.
We changed our annual {Cheer for a year} contest to {Fill the Fridge} the tickets were $10. The
winners could win either gift cards to Loblaws or Sobeys or take a cash pay out. . We were 29
shy of a sell out, we will use the money for our various service donations.
The Kinettes do Meals on Wheels the Month of January, five days a week. We delivery
between 5-9 lunches on our lunch times for shut-ins. It is a worthy service for our club,
sometimes it’s the only time the shut-ins see someone through the day.
For our Kindess week, we are going out to put positive notes at the library and local businesses.
Hopefully the kind words will bring I smile to people faces and maybe think of doing something
nice for someone else.
Goderich Kinette Club:
As with most Clubs, it has been a challenging couple of years for the Goderich Kinette Club. We did manage however, to hold several successful fundraising campaigns and donate funds to many worthwhile groups and organizations. Fundraising campaigns included selling Noah Martin meats, Rheo Thompson chocolates, maple syrup products, vegetable seeds, handmade soaps and lip balms, and our annual Kinsmen/Kinette Auction. Thus far for the 2022/23 year we have donated $6450. Some of the recipients of funds were the Goderich Cadets to purchase two way radio equipment so they could talk to astronaut Josh Cassada aboard the International Space Station; the Huron Women's Shelter; Huron County Christmas Bureau; Community Living; Blyth Junior Broomball; the Huron County Museum for gallery redevelopment; Kids Help Phone; and the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund. Last year we completed a 3 year commitment to the Goderich Hospital All in for your Health Campaign for $10,000.00. During this same time, we were lucky enough to also increase our Club membership.
We were honoured to receive and share the HREF Ambassadors of Learning Award with the Goderich Kinsmen at the National Service Gala. “In appreciation for your dedication in supporting Kin Canada’s bursary program through the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund and its goal to support Canadian Students in achieving their dreams.”
In 2023, the Goderich Kinette Club will be celebrating 75 years as a Charter. We hope to mark this occasion with some celebratory activities yet to be determined.

Welcome to the Zone K Webpage! I am Ally Austin, DG for the Zone K Kinettes Clubs. I am really looking forward to a more "normal" year of getting out and about to visit our clubs, and I am truly inspired by all the fantastic work that the clubs in our zone have done throughout a strange couple of years! There is no slowing these awesome women down! To start off the new kin year I wanted to introduce our clubs and provide a little update on how each of them has proudly lived up to the Kin motto of "Serving the Community's Greatest Needs"
__________________________________________________________
Hello everyone,I Mike Austin have returned as Deputy Governor for Zone K Kinsmen. I am looking forward to seeing all the members after a three year absence from club visits. I have completed my first round of club visits throughout the Zone and I am truly excited with the passion, excitement and enthusiasm that the members are showing to reconnect with their community's in a way that only Kin can! Once again I am looking forward to seeing all the exciting fundraisers and service projects the Zone K Kinsmen Clubs have in store for their community's this year. All these men doing amazing things to "Serve their Community's greatest Needs" which in turn makes me proud to belong to this Group, the BEST Zone in the District!!!
Clinton Kinettes were very fortunate to have been able to co-host Pluc’KIN’Fest with the Clinton Kinsmen on July 1, 2002 in Clinton. They look forward to collaborating with the Clinton Kinsmen for their yearly Santa Clause Day parade and Easter Egg Hunt as well. The club hosted a very successful virtual shirpa/bedding fundraiser and carried out their yearly poinsettia sales last year both of which they hope to repeat this coming year. They were pleased to have been able to donate to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, The Clinton Public Hospital, the Seaforth Community Hospital, Huron Hospice, Community Living Huron-Perth and One Care. They were also proud to have donated $522 worth of bedding, pillows & blankets to The Huron Women’s Shelter. The Clinton Kinettes enjoy having fun while giving back to our communities
St Marys Kinettes are looking forward to another great year ahead. I had the privilege of meeting some of them this summer while bartending at St Mary's Kinsmen Summerfest. The St Marys Kinettes have hosted a few successful projects including selling Cheer for a Year raffle tickets, participating in the United Church Community Dinner, and selling Christmas Flowers. The St Marys Kinettes find great pride in sending Seniors who reside in nursing homes Birthday cards. They find this to be a very rewarding project. Their goal this year will be to add more members to their club and to have a lot of fun together!
Hensall Kinettes have had a fulsome year of projects and plan to continue their successful fundraisers including their Cheer For A Year elimination draw, selling Uncle Dads Pizza, participating in the CF Walk in May, hosting Food Drives in October & May, and hosting Poinsettias and Epicure fundraisers. They are very proud to have been able to make donations to Tanner Steffler Foundation, Bluewater Coast Public School, Hensall Legion, South Huron Hospital and Jessica's House through their successful fundraising efforts. A new goal set for this coming year is to host a Tampon Tuesday at Hansen Grocery store in Exeter. Hensall Kinettes look for ward to another successful year of meeting their communities greatest needs!
Goderich Kinettes are looking forward to getting things back to normal post- COVID and discussing ways to increase membership. The club was fortunate enough to have had three members join their club, and look forward to recruiting new members. They participated in several successful fundraisers including Noah Martin meats sales, maple syrup sales, flower and vegetable seed sales and handmade soap and lip balm sales. The annual spring TV auction is one project that they always look forward to. The club enjoys working in collaboration with the Goderich Kinsmen, Clinton Kinsmen and Clinton Kinettes every year on this well established event! Last year they participated in their first ever Santa Clause Parade and their float received very positive feedback from the community, so continuing to increase the club's profile in the community is an ongoing goal. The Club was honoured to have received the HREF Ambassadors of Learning Award along with the Goderich Kinsmen Club at the recent Kin Canada National Service Gala. Even though the numbers have dwindled down from 100 to 30, this evening is greatly appreciated and enjoyed by all in attendance.
This year the date is Monday, November 27.
I was glad l could help out the Mitchell & District Kinette Club bagging the gifts all 24 bags as Zone K Kinette DG. It was nice seeing the people in the community's faces light up when they where presented with their gift. They enjoying seeing the Mitchell Kinettes. Great job Ladies!

Zone K Kinettes
Welcome back to another great District 1 Kin year with Back To The Basics Team!
I am excited to be the Zone K Kinette DG this year 2017-2018. It is going to be a year of learning, growing and expanding. My main goal is to met everyone in Zone K even the Kinsmen but I would really like Zone K too "Strive For Five!" Each Kinette Club should get five new, or past members that would be a total of 25 members and if the Kinsmen would like to do the same Zone K would contribute 50 new members. How nice would that be! I know Zone K can do it because we rock!

Hello Zone K
Hard to believe it is June already and the conclusion of this Kin year is just about upon us.
A huge thank you to the members of Zone K for making this another wonderful experience being your Zone Deputy Governor.
Things are not quite done for us in our clubs; remember that your Accredited Delegate form for National Convention 2017 is due to Kin Headquarters by July 15th. You can find the form in the Resource Library on the National Website or on the District Secretary's page here or on our Zone K Family of Kin Facebook group page.
As well, please ensure that your incoming Club Executive members have been shared with our incoming Deputy Governors. Kinette Presidents have already received that request via email.
Again, thank you for a great year and wishing you a great summer, whether you are relaxing or your club has summer projects on the go, I wish you all the best
Yours in Kin
Kinette Deputy Governor
Terri

Spring Convention always reminds us that our Kin year is winding down. The time has gone so quickly this year. All the clubs in Zone K have been busy with numerous projects. I would like to commend all the clubs for the hard work and dedication to making these projects successful.
Some clubs are just completing their major projects of the year.
The St. Marys Kinettes had a very successful "Spring Auction" in April.
The Hensall ladies are looking forward to their "Ladies Night in May.
Mitchell Kinettes are racing their "Rubber Duckies" on May 9th.
The Goderich Club are getting their hands dirty to make the town beautiful by planting and maintaining flower beds in the community. They will also be helping the Kinsmen at the annual "Summerfest" in July
Clinton Kinettes are gearing up for the July long weekend when they, in partnership with Clinton Kinsmen, present the "19th Annual Pluckinfest".
My Zone Conference went well, and I truly appreciate the hard work and little extras my club the Clinton Kinettes put in to hosting the event.
I have enjoyed joining all of my clubs at their meetings and events. They are all amazing women who go above and beyond to make their communities better. Congratulations to all of you on a very successful year.
Thank you for making me feel so welcome and part of the family in each of your clubs.
YIK
DG Betty Kelly

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I’ve just returned from 3 weeks back in Australia. It was great to catch up with my family and friends, and enjoy that awesome Aussie weather.
The Zone K Kinsmen Conference was held on Sunday the 15th March in St Mary’s. We had 43 members and guests attend. The theme was “Lumberjack” and we had many Lumberjack’s present! St Mary’s did a great job of hosting a very successful Zone Conference. Mat Lobb from Clinton won the speak off. Congratulations to Tyler Brady from Clinton for stepping up to be our Zone K incoming DG.
Zone K Kinsmen have been busy with fundraising projects. I’m very excited to report that we currently have 6 new members in the zone. With Club elections underway, I wish the incoming Presidents and Executive members all the best for their exciting year ahead.
Goderich Kinsmen : Goderich and Clinton had a great TV Auction with $50,000 raised. Goderich is now busy getting ready for this year’s annual Summerfest which is held from 10th – 12th July.
Hensal Kinsmen: The 1st ever Wing Night held in February was a huge success with over $4,000 raised. Their annual golf tournament will be held May 2nd. Hensall will be holding the Splash Pad grand opening on the 12th & 13th June in conjunction with the Hensall Fair. The 8th annual co-ed ball tournament will be held on the 19th June.
St Mary’s Kinsmen: had their 3rd annual Storage Battles on April 25th. The Hospital Gala Fundraiser will be May 2nd. Electronics Drive will be held on May 9th. The Club is also busy getting ready for Summerfest Aug 13 – 16th.
Stratford Kinsmen: are busy with Camp Tanner and getting ready for the Canada Day Parade & Fireworks. They are also looking after the bar for the Blues & Ribfest June 19th – 21st.
Clinton Kinsmen: Had a successful TV Auction with Goderich Kinsmen. The Club is also busy getting ready for Pluckinfest July 3rd – 5th.
I would like to congratulate the Zone K Kinsmen on another fantastic year. The Club Presidents, Executive’s and members do some amazing projects to provide service and raise money that goes back into the communities we live in. You should all feel very proud of your achievements!
I’ve greatly enjoyed my year as Deputy Governor in Zone K. As this is only my 4th year in Kin it has certainly been a steep learning curve but I have to say it has been my best year in Kin so far. The more I learn about Kin the prouder I feel to be a part of this amazing organisation. It really is the people that make the difference and stepping into the Deputy Governor role has helped me to meet so many more of our Kin family and to see the bigger picture of Kin outside of my club, zone and district.
I look forward to “Bridging the Gap” at Spring Convention.
YIK,
Darren Brunjes
2014 – 2015 Zone K Deputy Governor
Kinsmen and Kinettes have spent September and October organizing and planning projects to serve their communities.
I am pleased to be returning as Zone K Kinette Deputy Governor. I am also happy to be working beside the Kinsmen DG Darren. We are both members of the Clinton Kin Family.
The Kinettes in Zone K are always there to support local groups such as Meals on Wheels, and Blood Donor Clinics.
Many clubs organized or participated in Terry Fox Runs across the Zone. Some of our clubs recognize graduating students by giving awards and promoting the Kin Canada Bursury program.
The St. Marys Kinettes held a very successful "All About Me", Ladies Day in October. Along with all the good work they do they also have plans for club bonding with movie nights, wine and mystery tours.
The Goderich Kinettes have continued their project to provide "Care Kits" for Teens in need.
The Hensall ladies support local sports by sponsoring or serving food at tournaments and fund raising events. They also do an elimination type draw.
Mitchell Kinettes serve dinners, blood donor clinics and have just hosted an Improv night which was well attended.
The Clinton Kinettes started the year with a club team building challenge course. They invited friends and family to finish out the day with a Mystery tour and Scavenger hunt. They have also sold Pizza kits and just held a Christmas decoration "New to You" sale.
FLC will be filled with interesting and informative seminars, a little business, and a lot of fun.
As the Holiday season approaches many of our clubs are involved in decorating, Santa Claus Parades and selling Poinsettias for Cystic Fibrosis.
I am looking forward to working with all my clubs and especially meeting the new members joining our ranks.
The Kinettes in Zone K have been very busy this year.
My first Zone Conference held in St. Marys' was well attended and many enjoyed the presentations about Cystic Fibrosis and Rejuvenation.
I have enjoyed attending many functions and being welcomed by Kinettes across the Zone.
In Clinton the highlights were the Christmas Home Tour, Santa Clause Parade, and Easter Egg Hunt.
The Goderich and Clinton ladies helped out with the Annual Kinsmen TV Auction. I made my TV debut as an auctioneer and enjoyed it tremendously.
The Hensall club are getting ready for their Ball Hockey tournament and Community Garage Sale Day in Hensall.
Mitchell Kinettes have been helping with blood donor clinics and held their first Family Day celebration to the delight of young children in the Mitchell area.
St. Marys' Kinettes are one of the busiest clubs in the zone with sponsoring Ladies Night, Spring Auction and helping with Meals on wheels just to name a few.
Many of the clubs sell poinsettias, pizza and popcorn, collect grocery tapes, serve seniors dinners, cater etc to raise funds to support their communities
This has been a great year for me. The Kinettes in this Zone are an amazing group of women who go above and beyond for their families, friends, and communities.
I am so proud to call them my friends and to belong to this wonderful family of Kin. When asked why I am part of Kinettes, I say that it is the people and their passion to help their neighbours, friends and communities to be a better place to live. It is well known that if you want something accomplished and done well, just ask a Kinsmen or Kinette.
Thank you to all the clubs in Zone K for making this a year to remember.
Thank you to our sponsors!
