Thank You to all the Deputy Governors, Host Clubs and Kin members who welcomed us to their Zone Conferences. We enjoyed the fellowship, the jokes (most of themš) and of course the food! Except for 1 day the weatherman even co-operated for our touring!
What a great group headed off to Punta Cana for an amazing vacation and to support Cystic Fibrosis. If you ever have the opportunity to join in on the trip, go for it!
District Convention is coming up quickly, and we will be doing a Silent Auction again so if there are items you would like to donate please send them our way. We will be accepting donation cheques for CF and HREF at convention as well and thank you in advance for those!
Welcome to Zone Conference Season in District 1!
That means great fun and fellowship all across the district. As your Service Directors we hope to attend many of these amazing conferences so we can share in the celebration of what you the clubs have done this year.
Speaking of celebrating, we are looking ahead to District Spring Convention and celebrating with everyone the amazing things that have happened all year as well. We need your help to do this!
Wilson/Sinclair Service Award: deadline 30 days prior to convention, for projects from Apr. 1/24-Mar. 30/25, club award, page 2-3 of awards brochure.
(* this award must be submitted to the District Service Directors for marking)
Please take a look at the pages noted for these service awards and submit your entriesš We want to award them all!
As we travel from Zone to Zone, we would happily accept any cheque presentations for Cystic Fibrosis and HREF that clubs have to present. We are also asking for any donations of items for the auction at Spring, we can collect them from your Zone Conference.
Bursary season is also upon us! The deadline for applications has passed and the next deadline is for you the clubs to have your applicant (s) endorsed by March 1/25. Watch your club emails for the good news in the coming days! It isnāt too late to make your donation to HREF Bursaries! Your donation helps students across Canada to realize their dreamsā£ļø
Are you a Blood Donor? It is in you to give if you are eligible! This is our 10th year partner anniversary with Canadian Blood Services, and we are hoping to see 1920 units from the family of Kin donors! Will you be some of those donations?
Thank you to the clubs for the invites out to events and club meetings! We enjoy meeting our fellow Kinš Keep being the amazing Kin you are!
Christmas Greetings!
As your Service Directors we want to wish each and every member a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
There are so many amazing projects happening out there in District 1 it is hard to keep up with all of you! Parades, food drives, breakfasts with Santa, supporting local charities, vendor events, toy drives, movie nights, raffle draws, Chase the Ace draws, Quarter Auction, and even a smaller version of Friday the 13th and so much more! Kudos to everyone for all you are doing for your communities
FLC was amazing, thank you Flamborough Kin for everything you did and all the assistance with the Auction! The generous donations of prizes and purchasing of items let us see $2400+ added to the CF total for the year!!
Elgin St. Thomas Kinettes have proudly initiated a quest for a Memorial HREF Bursary in Good Kinette LM Colleen Wakeās name. The link for donations to this Bursary is on the district fb page, and the LINK, Canada Works is being used to collect these specific donations and it is hoped that sufficient funds will be raised to be able to present the Bursary as part of the 2025 Bursaries.
Howdy do!

Hey D1, one last update before we pass the torch to our incoming Directors Frank and Kym. First of all Brandon and I want to say a huge THANK YOU to those of you that invited us out to spend time with you and your clubs. We enjoyed getting out and meeting the members of D1 and seeing all that you do for your communities.
This year we as a district we raised (to be filled in) for Cystic Fibrosis Canada and (to be filled in) for HREF. While these numbers are astounding we hope next year you guys can keep your numbers for CF just as high but put a little extra into the HREF donation box.
This year Kin Canada received 600 applications and endorsed 218 of them. Of those 218 applicants only 55 bursaries were given out, we can only give out as many bursaries as there is money in the bank so please remember, we need those HREF donations.
We were extremely happy to be able to give out 4 CF and Service Awards this year. Congratulations to our winners:

Hey, D1. We just wanted to give you guys an update on how our year is going so far. We have had the opportunity to get out and see lots of clubs in action. It truly is amazing seeing all the different events put on throughout our district and all that we are doing for our communities. You guys rock!
We put on an amazing Valentine's Day Gala for Cystic Fibrosis with the help of the Stratford Kinsmen. This event would not have been a success without the support of everyone from our district. All the amazing silent auction items you went out and got for us helped us raise almost $3200 for CF!! In total this event raised right around $6000 for CF WOW!
We are sitting low on our blood donations this year so let's get out there and donate! We have pledged 150 donations and are sitting at just over 60 donations.
Don't forget to keep track of all your club is doing for our engagement award this year! I have attached the PDF below for those that don't have it already.
We want to thank all of our clubs for working with us with our new process of getting applications submitted for Kin Canada Bursaries this year. We know learning something new isn't always fun and doesn't always work but I think we did pretty good!
District 1, we are PUMPED to be your CF and Service Directors this year. We want to get out and see all the clubs this year so please invite us out to EVERY event.
For CF swag this year we have our pins and coozies which are each $5. Our logo comes from the famous story of 65 roses which you can read about here: https://www.cff.org/about-us/65-roses-story
You can reach out to your Deputy Governors or us directly to get some swag.
We have had a busy start to the year helping out at St. Marys Summerfest, Lucknow's Music in the Fields, Meaford Kin Camp and we are looking forward to all the future events to come!
