Kin on Track Newsflash - May 1, 2024

This is your Kin on Track News Flash coming to you from the General Meeting of the Leamington Kinsmen Club.

In Old Business, we’d like to congratulate our newest Life Member Tyler Brady from the Clinton and District Kinsmen Club.

We’d like to congratulate the following clubs who’ve celebrated their charter Anniversaries since our last Kin on Track News Flash: on April 11, the Cambridge (Preston) Kin Club celebrated 80 years, the Centre Wellington Kinette Club celebrated 13 years, and the Niagara on the Lake Kinsmen Club celebrated 54 years; on April 12, the Ridgeway Crystal Beach Kin Club celebrated 77 years; on April 17, the Cayuga Kinsmen Club celebrated 73 years; on April 23, the Hensall and District Kinsmen Club celebrated 70 years; on April 24 the Drayton Kinette Club celebrated 10 years; and, on April 26, the Grimsby Kinette Club celebrated 57 years.

For the Good of Kin:

Many Clubs are celebrating their anniversaries TODAY. They include the Clinton and District Kinsmen who celebrate 72 years, the Feversham and District Kinsmen who celebrate 46 years, and the Wallaceburg Kinsmen Club who celebrate 92 years.

Upcoming Anniversaries coming up prior to our next Kin on Track News Flash include the following clubs: on May 2, the Waterloo Grand River Kinsmen 44 years; on May 4, the Kitchener Waterloo Kinsmen 83 years; on May 5, the Fergus and District Kinsmen 34 years, and the Greater London Kinsmen 92 years. And lastly on May 10, the Palmerston & District Kinettes 39 years.

This year District 1 pledged 150 units to Canadian Blood Services. Friends and family are encouraged to join as part of our partners for life program. You only need to give the ID number once for all future donations to be counted. ID number is KINC110223. Remember, it’s in you to give.

Have an event coming up, where you will be serving alcohol? Don’t forget about District 1’s Cystic Fibrosis fundraising beer. Described as an outstanding lager, $10 from every case is donated to Cystic Fibrosis research. Contact your District 1 service team for details.

Upcoming Events:

• May 3rd is Niagara-on-the-Lake's Euchre Tournament
• May 4th is the 11th annual Duck Race hosted by the Stayner and District Kinsmen Club
• May 4th & 5th is the Spring into Summer Arts and Crafts event hosted by the Sarnia Kinsmen Club
• May 10th - 12th is the Komic Kin Spring Convention hosted by the St. Thomas Kinsmen Club at the Ramada Inn, London. You won’t want to miss it. For those wishing for a little greater adventure, the boys have once again brought back the popular Friday night “Pub Crawl” fellowship event. This time in costume.

• May 17th is Taps and Trivia hosted by the Listowel Kinsmen Club
• May 25th is the 1st annual Cystic ‘Fore’brosis Golf Tournament hosted by the Tilbury Kinsmen Club, and the “Drag me to Stayner” event hosted by the Clearview Kin Club
• May 26th is the Step Towards Support. Celebrate 20 years of CF support by joining a CF walk near you
• May 30th - June 2nd is the Cambridge/Preston Kin Carnival hosted by the Cambridge (Preston) Kin Club
• Lastly, the sun is out, and you should be too ... so we’re having a party, and the District is inviting you. Everyone’s coming, you should be there! Bring your family and a potluck dish to share.
