Well the St. Thomas Kinsmen and Kinettes have been very busy. They entered the St. Thomas Santa Clause Parade as they do every year.
It started with the parade meeting where the theme was revealed to be “Clearing the Tracks for Santa.”
An idea was brought forth to turn the towing vehicle into a locomotive. They started construction at 8am and were just finished in time for judging at 4:45. Many hands made light work, and through great teamwork and leadership from the “supervisors”
The St. Thomas Kinsmen Engine 1920 was finished complete with a functional smoke stack, and was awarded best theme in the Parade. Teardown started right after the parade was done and completely packed up by 11:15pm. It was cold, at times snowy, and a very long day! But this is part of what we are all about, great fellowship during the build, having a blast promoting the club during the parade, and more great fellowship celebrating our award after the teardown with some Bailey’s and hot chocolate.
