TURN OUT THE LIGHTS THE PARTYS OVER
I can remember sitting around the tv when I was a kid watching Monday Night Football with my dad, that's probably because there was no hockey on the tube. There was a man named "Dandy" Don Merideth who did colour commentataing for this show. When the football game was out of hand he would sing this song, sung by the great former tax evasion country singer Willie Nelson. Turn out the Lights the Partys over, they say all must things come to an end. This may be my end to my year as your Deputy Governor but never to an end to "Serving my Communities Greatest Needs".
I cannot tell you how proud I am of each and every club is this zone, you have made this my most memorable and rewarding career in my Kin life so far. I hope there are many more to come just like this year. You have shown me when a zone gets together we can get things accomplished together. I met some great friends along the way not only in our zone but thru the our great District 1 as well.
I would personally like to thank my family, friends, and my work for giving me the time to be away. As well as all the presidents in Zone G for your co-operation in getting in paper work to me and sending paper work into National. Whenever I asked of things to be done by you, you did your presidency and club proud, you stepped up to the plate and hit a home run for our zone.
Secondly I would like to congratulate Kin Paul VanBeers on a fantastic speech at Spring Convention in London, not only did you do our zone proud in winning the Gord Harbison District award, you did your club, yourself and your family proud in your speech about your brother and what he goes thru having CF. Paul, as you said in your speech, your brother is your hero, let me say, you are a hero in our eyes in Zone G. You should be proud of your accomplishment, and best of luck to you at National in Halifax in August, Zone G will be thinking of you.
Lastly I would like to thank the District team especially Governors Darrell and Judy. What an honour and a priviledge it was to serve on a team that you put together. It was such a rewarding time. You challenged us as Deputy Governors to go out and make a difference in our zone, to think outside the box, to have goals, but most of all have fun and fellowship. As I received the Oustanding Deputy Governor Award at Spring Convention you did something to me that doesn't happen very often, I was at a loss for words and was very humbled. I would like to thank you and your team for that award and I know there are other Deputy Governors in this District that deserve it as well.
Until next time fellow Kin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3xsDv6yCnY
