While my roots are rural Middlesex County in the Putnam-Dorchester area, we moved to Kitchener very shortly after
Elaine (Vice Governor) and I were married. In Kin we say, "family first, then Kin", well, that's pretty much how it worked. The births of our children, Danielle, then Graeme, necessitated some day care for them, and coincidentally, the couple we chose for that were already part of the KW kin family. I was a bit of a hard sell at first, but by early 1986 I was a KW Kinsman and have maintained perfect attendance ever since. Over that time I have published our Bulletin, been Treasurer, Director, President a couple of times, won a few club awards, and have been on a couple Zone teams. As a member of the KW Kinsmen Club we are co-sponsors of KW Habilitation Services, and I have been a member of that Board since the early 90s, serving as it's Chairman from 2003-2005.
Without a doubt, a highlight for me was being honoured with a Life Membership to Kin on November 17, 2007.
After more than 20 years in Kin however, this is my first time as Deputy Governor, and I look forward to seeing you all as I travel to your clubs in the next few months.
Have a great year !!
