I was born at a very early age, not so long ago, in the city of London. Our family moved to Galt (not Cambridge yet) where I completed my high school and college, met my wife, now Past Governor Carol, and started on life’s journey. At the time I was working for a department store that liked to move people around on a regular basis, which took me through most of Southern Ontario. When we moved to Chatham, for the second time, I was asked to join the Kinsmen club. That was probably one of the best decisions that I have ever made, at least it is in the top 10. At this point, I decided to change jobs, as the moving was getting to be too much. The next job was better, but the moving never stopped.

Along the way we added two children to our family. Christine, lives and works as a French/music teacher in Owen Sound, and our son, Mike, a certified outdoor adventure guide and trainer, currently guiding in Newfoundland.

The Family of Kin has been very good to me, and has taken me places that I never would have gone to, like national convention in White Horse. It has also been very beneficial when moving to different cities, as there was always someone there that you could call on to get acquainted with the new area. We have lived in most cities from Windsor to Cobourg, to North Bay, and been in two districts, one and eight.

My Kin career includes nearly everything from club levels, to district support roles, to National Director, and NVP candidate, twice. The only thing missing was District Governor, and with the sweet talking from my dear friend, Judy, it looks like that page has been filled soon.

I am really looking forward to this journey. There are many challenges facing the district, zone and clubs. There are also many rewards to be had for those people who are making dreams come true in their communities. When I look around at the people who are going to make this all happen, how could you not want to be a part of it?

My current job with Fastenal Canada, finds me traveling quite a bit. We have stores in many of the cities and towns in District one, so I can always find an excuse to come to your town, if you would like me to.
