KIN HISTORY: Dan grew up as a Kin Kid, son to Ridgeway-Crystal Beach Kinette Charter member Terry Strugar and Life Member Kin Nick Strugar. Dan had been an active member of the Ridgeway-Crystal Beach Kinsmen Club for 17 years, and has just recently moved to the Kinsmen Club of St. Marys. He has held most Club Executive positions, has been Club President three times and honoured with his National Outstanding President’s Award. Dan has served four terms as Deputy Governor, has won three Outstanding Deputy Governor’s awards and has twice been honoured with the Governor’s Award of Excellence. In 2004-05 Dan served on the District Executive as District Secretary under the guidance of Governors Kim Switzer and Brad Rockefeller. Dan has also been honoured with his Founder’s Award for Achievement and is also a four-time District One Bill Esson Kin Quill Award winner. Dan was also part of our 2009 National Convention Executive Planning Committee.
WHY DAN WANTS TO BE GOVERNOR: Kin Dan has been proud to be a member for 18 years. During that time he has grown as an individual through Kin, made lifelong friends and has witnessed his friends grow thanks to Kin. Kin Dan is one who has come up through a mentoring program and as a result of that program and his growth and experiences feels in his heart it is time for him to step forward and say thank you to this District by becoming Governor. In doing so Dan wants to see a new generation of young Kin come forward and begin to assume the leadership roles within this District and assist in guiding it to a successful future, and in doing so be an integral part in developing young new leaders that will help in ensuring the success of our Association for not only the next generation but for many generations to come |
