Welcome, another year of Kin projects and fellowship is upon us.
I’m Brad Bedford National Director District 1. Since taking on this position the learning curve has been steep but rewarding in many ways.
This position has many challenges and my perception of how this would be and how it is are considerably different. It is a fairly large demand of your time for anyone considering it in the future.
I would like to express to each of you what an honour it is to be your representative in District 1 and I have and will continue to express your concerns.
During spring zone conferences I'm attempting to see as many of you as possible by attending as many zones as I can.
The opportunity to associate with the “finest in the land” is not lost on me and it's good to be talking to my fellow Kin.
On a personal note I'm happy to report that my annual ice fishing derby which I run as a project for the St.Thomas Kinsmen club raised $10,700 this year with $9,700 being donated to Cystic Fibrosis Canada. As it was my last derby I'm pleased to say that in it's 10 year life it donated over $102,000 to various charities including in excess of $30,000 to Cystic Fibrosis.

I hope to learn the position and do it well, with your support. Many of you have forgotten more than I know about Kin so I hope you’ll impart that knowledge to me and we’ll both be better off for it.
