Vice Governors Candidacy Announcement

Dear Family of Kin,

“D-1 Racing” is more than just an opportunity to have fun with a popular sport. In any racing team, no one member is more important than the other – each and every person and element within a team contributes to the success of every race. Like any racing team, District One must count on not only its Crew Chiefs, (the leaders), but also every single member of the team to ensure success. Whether that team member is responsible for communicating with the driver, addressing mechanical issues, or preparing the engine, every member is a crucial part in the execution of success. They must all function as a cohesive unit in an environment that is rich with the elements you need for growth as a person, a professional and as a leader.

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we, Dan Strugar – Kinsmen Club of St Marys and former member of Ridgeway-Crystal Beach Kinsmen, and Colleen Wake – Kinette Club of London, announce our candidacy for the positions of Vice Governors – District 1.

We want you to be a team member here in “D-1 Racing”, fulfill a role and take advantage of the best that Kin has to offer as we work toward the goal that lies at the checkered flag! What is the goal at that checkered flag you ask? For each member of this District to feel part of a loving family that shows respect to each individual for their thoughts and ideas, that has growth in membership, and that flourishes from the Club level through proper mentoring, and thus, as a result, seeing new leaders coming forward at the Zone and District Level to ensure the long term success of District One and Kin Canada.
We want this “D-1 Racing” experience to enhance your life! We intend to offer the kind of support, training and experiences that will allow all members to thrive and grow in all avenues of their lives. Once you’ve joined the crew and all we have to offer, you can’t help but feel prepared and confident facing any challenge presented to you.
In order to bring our philosophy within Kin to you as effectively as possible, we need, and are asking for your support. You can show your support by expressing to us any concerns that you feel should be addressed throughout this campaign. We know, without a doubt, that learning about each other and respecting each other’s ideas and opinions is the most important thing we can offer each other. Learning allows for understanding. Understanding breeds respect. Respect for each other leads to productivity. Productivity equals success. Success attracts attention and growth.

You can further show your support by enhancing, promoting, and voting for our candidacy, and if you wish you could show your support through a financial contribution also, so that we may better take our message to all members within District One.

It is our intention to follow this letter up with a Statement of Intent that will outline our plans for enhancing the Kin Experience for all members of District 1.
We would like to thank you for your consideration of our support and requests, and look forward to meeting up with you as we work our way through the campaign trail.

Yours in Kin,

Dan Strugar & Colleen Wake

D-1 Racing

During that time he has grown as an individual through Kin, made lifelong friends and has witnessed his friends grow thanks to Kin. Kin Dan is one who has come up through a mentoring program and as a result of that program and his growth and experiences feels in his heart it is time for him to step forward and say thank you to this District by becoming Governor. In doing so Dan wants to see a new generation of young Kin come forward and begin to assume the leadership roles within this District and assist in guiding it to a successful future, and in doing so be an integral part in developing young new leaders that will help in ensuring the success of our Association for not only the next generation but for many generations to come

Colleen Wake, Kinette
Vice Governor Candidate

KIN HISTORY: Kinette Colleen has been a proud member since 1995 and originally came to us from District 6. Colleen also has a cousin who along with his wife, are both C.F. carriers. They had a child with C.F. and Colleen wanted to feel like she was helping in some way. Since joining Kin, Colleen has been very involved. A Maple Leaf and Outstanding Maple Leaf Award winner, Colleen has also won the National Club President Award twice, been a three-time District Public Speaking Competition winner, and also a National Public Speaking Award Winner. CAREER: Kinette Colleen is an employee of CAMI Automotive where she helps to build awesome cars. In addition, Colleen is a student at Trios College in the Medical Office Assistant Program. She is also the proud mother of Collin and Alex and happily married to past Kin Roger Wake.
WHY COLLEEN WANTS TO BE GOVERNOR: Colleen has always been asked when she was going to step up and run for Governor and she has always said in her own words, “Not until I find the right partner and the absolute best team ever.” Now she finds herself saying, “I’ve got both of those now and I want to rekindle in this District that Kin fire. Get people thinking again about why they joined, what makes Kin great, and how they can share that with everyone!” Colleen brings a positive attitude, creativity and passion for Kin as well as the ability to speak comfortably and possesses strong leadership skills that she wants to instill in others.

The Canada Revenue Agency warns Canadians of mail scam

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is warning taxpayers to beware of a recent scam where some Canadians are receiving a letter fraudulently identified as coming from the CRA and asking for personal information. The letter is not from the CRA. A PDF version of the letter is available on the CRA Web site at www.cra.gc.ca/alert.

The letter claims that there is “insufficient information” for the individual’s tax return and that in order to receive any “claims,” they will have to update their records. The letter attaches a form specifically requesting the individual’s personal information in writing, via fax or email, including information on bank accounts and passports. This letter is not from the CRA and Canadians should not provide their personal information to the sender.

All taxpayers should be vigilant when divulging any confidential information to third parties. The CRA has well established practices to protect the confidentiality of taxpayers’ information.

The CRA has notified the proper law enforcement authorities of this scam.

For information about this and other similar scams, or to report deceptive telemarketing activity, visit www.phonebusters.com, send an email to info@phonebusters.com, or call 1-888-495-8501
