Ah, yes, spring is just around the corner. Wiarton Willie saw his shadow and predicted another 6 weeks of winter. Crazy rodent! Well, if the next six weeks is anything like the last six weeks, then we should be quite all right!

We are about half way through our Kin year, and from what I hear, most clubs are doing very well. Clubs are busy, membership seems to be growing, and people are very positive. It would also appear that more and more clubs are going for visits to other clubs. This is great as it promotes the fellowship that has been lacking in many areas. The more fun that our members have the more people that will want to be a part of Kin. The St. Thomas Kinsmen have gone on record stating that they will become the dominant club in District One! They are going out to visit other clubs, and challenging them to join them on their ride to success. Be ready, they might just come and visit you!

Most of the mid- term meetings are completed now. Zone conferences are coming up very soon. Please make plans to have as many of your club members attend your zone conference as possible. More people mean more interaction, more ideas traded, and a better feel for what is going on in your area. Treat them as a learning experience and a chance to gain some new ideas that will help your club.

Spring Convention is not too far away either. It will be held on the long weekend in May, at the Hilton Hotel in downtown London. The London Kinettes will be your hosts for a truly first class, gala event. The speaking competition and opening ceremonies will be Friday evening starting at 7 pm. The London Kin family will then, take everyone on a Pub Crawl, British Style! The early 60's themed costume event will take place Friday evening at the hospitality suite. Don’t miss out!

All past alumni that we can find, will be invited to the Saturday program. We are planning a golf tournament for those who wish, and a big celebration at the CF Service dinner Saturday night. You won’t want to miss it! You can help by either inviting past alumni yourself or by sending the information to the London Kinettes and they will try to contact them.

Spring Convention is the time to celebrate all the good things that Kin has accomplished.

This year, we have lots to celebrate:
It is the 90th anniversary of the founding of Kin, the 45th anniversary of our partnership with the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and the 70th anniversary of the London Kinettes!

Wow, this will be some party! Don’t miss it.

Yours in Kin
